PostSubject: Ron Ellington reforms team for Talladega   Sun Oct 19, 2014 2:49 am

Ron Ellington has re-established ownership of the team he and Bob Garrison had started at the beginning of 2014.

Ron Ellington: "We started Carolina Engineering a few weeks before the 2014 Daytona 500 with 1 car, a group of volunteers and a lot of hope.  Over the next several races we picked up one race deals here and there to keep going.  After the Spring California race we faced closing the doors or merging.

We merged with Wilson Motorsports Group to form WCS racing which brought us Chameleon Sunglasses and clothing as a full time sponsor.   WCS expanded to a 2 car operation with the teams of Bob Camp and Alan Bell.  This put a toll on the team and led to ceasing operations after the July New Hampshire Race. Chameleon also exited as our sponsor.

The team reformed again as Arrow Engineering. Once again we were having to find one race deals here and there for funding. Becoming disenchanted with the constant change I had originally decided to retire at the end of 2014 and the team sought to bring on a development driver as I would finish my year with the team as a part time driver...then we got 2 poles and a win.

Now we were in the chase for the Sprint Cup Championship. We picked up Hanes clothing as a primary sponsor.  Instead of concentrating on the chase...the co-owners of Arrow went back to a two car operation with Glen Wilson as driver.  This again put a toll on the team which led to us being eliminated in the first round of the chase. The team has had a series of poor performances and again there were rumors of closing down. Also I did not have the same view on issues with the co-owners of Arrow Motorsports so I saw this as a great opportunity to buy back our original team and try it once again on our own for the remainder of this year and a full season run with a one car operation next year.

We are set for a better start for 2015 with more cars and better equipment, resources and personnel than our last Daytona 500 effort. We will race the 2015 Chrysler 200 next season. We are in talks with a sponsor for next season"

The new Ellington Motorsports will start competition at the fall Talladega race and will compete for the rest of the 2014 Sprint Cup season.  Ron is currently 15th in Sprint Cup points with 1 win, 2 poles, 5 top fives, 6 top tens, 17 top twenty finishes and 116 laps led.

Crew chief for the team will be Dave Camp, son of driver Bob Camp.

Ron Ellington will return again in 2015 as owner/driver for another full season. Full sponsorship to be announced.
